Song/Tech: "Kodachrome" - Paul Simon (1973)

In this week's installment of Song/Tech I will be covering Paul Simon's "Kodachrome", a paean to a now-dead 35mm film technology. The song was written in 1973, in the heyday of Kodachrome film, which was introduced in 1935 as the first commercially-viable color film. However, Kodakchrome took a nosedive in the 80s and 90s thanks to competition from Fuji and changing technology. As of June this year, Kodak stopped production of Kodachrome film. As of this writing there is only one photo shop left in America that processes Kodachrome slides, Dwayne's Photo in Kansas (they wil only be processing it until 2010, so act now...)
