The End of an Era
Yahoo's GeoCities, one the of the first make-your-own-site hosts is closing for good at the end of the month. Back in the late 1990s it seemed like everyone and their brother had a GeoCities site. But most people had lite. But the site fell by the wayside as most bloggers long moved on to greener pastures. Mashable users waxed poetic on the heyday of the site.
